Make your contribution to the Braswell Scholarship today

BraswellDear friends,

Superintendent Ray Braswell committed his career to education in this community, and we would like to honor his dedication by creating the Ray and Cydney Braswell Education Scholarship at UNT’s College of Education.

With this scholarship, future generations of leaders will be educated in his name, which is a perfect tribute to someone who gave so much of himself to education in our community.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 so that the Ray and Cydney Braswell Education Scholarship can exist in perpetuity and benefit the best and brightest students from Denton ISD each and every year. A college degree can truly change a person’s life. And for some of our students, a scholarship often means the difference between attending college or not.

Will you make a gift today to honor Dr. Braswell and support the next generation of Denton ISD’s teachers and leaders at UNT? The best part is that each and every dollar raised for the scholarship will be DOUBLED until we reach our goal of $25,000, thanks to matching funds from friends of Denton ISD and UNT’s College of Education.

That means your donation will go TWICE as far. For every $1 you give, another $1 will go towards reaching our goal. If we all pitch in, we can be the difference for a student who really needs our support while honoring the career of one of Denton ISD’s finest leaders.

You can make a one-time gift, or contribute some each month automatically by credit card, EFT, or even through payroll deduction.

Those of us who had the good fortune to work with Dr. Braswell gained knowledge, wisdom, and confidence, but we also gained a friend. He set an outstanding example and positively influenced the future of our students, our district and our community.

Please give today (type in “Ray Braswell” as your Designation area) so that we can ensure that this scholarship is a lasting tribute to a truly unique and outstanding champion of education.

Best regards,

Jamie Wilson (’91, ’99 M.Ed., ’12 Ed.D.)                                    Jerry R. Thomas, Ed.D.
