Doc student named Outstanding Adviser by national association

gonzalesErin Gonzales, a PhD candidate in the Higher Education program, has been named an Outstanding Advising Award recipient by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).

The award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students. The category includes individuals whose primary role is the direct delivery of advising services to students. See the complete list of NACADA winners.

NACADA represents academic advising in higher education and includes more than 10,000 faculty, professional advisers, administrators, counselors and others in academic and student affairs.

Gonzales works at the University of Texas at Arlington and was named UTA's Outstanding Professional Adviser in April. She is an adviser for UTeach in UTA’s College of Science.

Gonzales plans to complete her UNT Higher Education doctoral degree in the coming year.
