DFST student named Kappa Delta Leadership Development Consultant

University of North Texas senior Nicole Whitfield, a member of Kappa Delta sorority, was selected as one of the 14 national Kappa Delta Leadership Development Consultants for the 2014-15 academic year.

"This opportunity is a chance to give back to the organization that has given me so much," Whitfield said. "Never before has a consultant been chosen from Gamma Beta, our chapter name. This shows members of my chapter and other smaller chapters nationwide that anyone can be a consultant."

Kappa Delta's consultant program is designed to provide chapters across the country with continuous support through the year. Consultants will travel from August through April 2015 to assist with operations, recruitment and leadership development. In addition, they will help install and develop new Kappa Delta chapters.

Whitfield, a development and family studies major, from Keller, Texas, plays an active role in the chapter. She served as president, vice president of membership, and PanHellenic delegate, among other appointed positions. In addition to her involvement in Kappa Delta, Whitfield served as a director of Inter-fraternal Programming on the Greek Programming Board, works as a student assistant in the Office of Greek Life and is a member of the Order of Omega and Rho Lambda, honor societies for members of sororities and fraternities.
