College of Education Ambassador Application

Position Description

COE Ambassadors will work most directly with prospective students and families by answering questions during events, which requires some evenings and weekends. Ambassadors are also entitled to perform office duties once a week and work with the COE Recruiter to meet with prospective students. In addition, COE Ambassadors may be asked to work with the development office for alumni events throughout the year. COE Ambassadors are asked to be flexible as last minute events and request may arise.

Office Duties --included, but not limited to:

  • Fold and stuff mail outs
  • Call prospective students
  • Input data on computer
  • Organize back storage closet
  • Make COE goodie bags
  • File general files
  • Shred confidential papers
  • Make copies of handouts


  • Undergraduate student enrolled full time in the UNT College of Education (12 /semester min.) and commit to a full year (fall and spring) of ambassador service
  • Minimum UNT GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Submit completed application and other required documents by advertised deadline
  • Be in good standing at the University and free of any disciplinary actions from the Dean of Students Office
  • Be able to commit to at least 35 hours per semester for office duties

Selection Criteria

  • Submit a completed application
  • Submit an essay detailing why you chose to pursue a major in the College of Education
  • Submit two sealed letters of recommendation from faculty, staff or previous employer
  • Ability and willingness to positively represent the University through a positive attitude and a genuine interest in helping students and their families genuinely engage and connect with the College of Education
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups of individuals including but not limited to students, families, donors, alumni, faculty and staff
  • Interview with the Ambassador Development Committee and other campus or college representatives
