Jessica Powell, M.S.
TExES Advisor

Jessica started her UNT career in January 2011 as a Testing Specialist. She came to the TExES Advising Office in September 2012, and has continued to shake things up for the past several years. Originally from Austin, Texas, Jessica graduated from Tarleton State University with Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology.  Moving to Denton County upon completing her college career, Jessica worked for both the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services and Big Brothers Big Sisters prior to coming to UNT.  Currently, Jessica lives in Denton with her two dogs, Luigi and Davros, and betta fish Sheldon.

 

Jeanie McMahan
Administrative Specialist III

Ms. Jeanie McMahan has worked in the College of Education at the University of North Texas for over 29 years. In April of 2016, she joined the TExES Advising Office as an Administrative Specialist to help support the advisement of students through the process of taking their state teacher certification exams.  In her previous position, she was an Administrative Coordinator for the Special Education Emotional/Behavioral Disorders program.  She was responsible for budgeting, operation, and federal reporting for 24 different U.S. Department of Education grants, as well as the recruitment and advisement of students pursuing a degree in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders. Jeanie plans to continue her passion of helping students achieve their goals in the TExES Advising Office. In her down time, Jeanie enjoys spending time with her family, loves to travel, and is a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and anything to do with Disney World!
