About Us

President's EDGE Logo

The President’s EDGE is a joint initiative of the President’s cabinet and the College of Education which provides employees support and opportunities for advancement within the UNT community. It first opened its doors in the spring of 2011 as a program to assist staff members to study for and obtain their high-school equivalent certificate. Thanks to the support of the university community, the program has expanded to meet the diverse needs of its staff and includes English as a second language, computer skills, citizenship studies, résumé assistance and even basic Spanish.

The President’s EDGE signifies Employee Directed General Education and the office fulfills that mission by developing curriculum for the various educational goals presented by staff and employees of the university. Direction is often determined by staff members' needs and requests from groups and departments wanting to support their staff.

Instruction is generally one-to-one and adapted to the individual. Our tutors are well versed in their subjects and enjoy helping people achieve their academic or employment goals. Classes in English and Spanish are offered periodically throughout the year and will be announced.

The program is currently located on the first floor of the NT Lofts, rooms 110 and 120. Tutors are available for private instruction Mondays through Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:30 to 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We are closed on Fridays.

We will be closed from August 5 to August 24, 2017.

We will be back on August 26th!
