Graduate Admissions

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation application includes a 2-step process:

1) Graduate School Application
2) The Departmental Application for Kinesiology or Recreation, Event and Sport Management Programs

Step 1: University Graduate School Application

Apply through the Toulouse Graduate School at www.applytexas.org. Submit application fee and official transcripts from all schools attended to their office. If the minimum GPA requirements are met, the packet will be forwarded to our department for review.You must meet the admission requirements of the Toulouse Graduate School, including a minimum 3.4 GPA on a Master's degree work (if applying with a Master's degree), 2.8 on Bachelor's (if applying without a Masters degree), or (alternatively) GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 credit hours you took if applying with a Bachelor's degree.

Graduate Admissions Process For Kinesiology

After being accepted into the UNT's Toulouse Graduate School, your application will be sent to the Kinesiology Graduate Program Coordinator for review.  Please note admission to the graduate program in kinesiology is not guaranteed because you are accepted into the UNT's Toulouse Graduate School.  Admission to the graduate program in kinesiology is not determined by any single criterion or quantitative measure of achievement but on the decision by the Kinesiology Graduate Program Coordinator with input from faculty members in the department.

Minimum Requirements

1) Earn a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
2) Earn a 3.0 grade point average or higher on all undergraduate work OR a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of your undergraduate degree OR a 3.4 GPA on your master's degree.

Graduate Admissions Process for Recreation, Event and Sport Management

After being accepted into the UNT's Toulouse Graduate School, your application will be sent to the appropriate Graduate Program Coordinator for review.  Please note admission to the graduate program in Recreation, Event and Sport Management is not guaranteed because you are accepted into the UNT's Toulouse Graduate School.  Admission to the master's program in Recreation, Event and Sport Management is based upon a holistic review of your undergraduate studies, work or volunteer experience, scores on admission exams, and letters of reference. Specific requirements include:
