Dr. Izen joined the Educational Psychology/Special Education faculty from her position as an assistant professor of special education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She received her doctorate from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and comes to UNT with a strong background in teaching at the undergraduate and master's level as well as former experience as a special education teacher and administrator in New York State and Kentucky. Her areas of interest include teacher training and online course development with an emphasis on quality instruction and building community in online environments. Dr. Izen is pleased be part of the UNT community! She has a little experience with UNT already as both of her children attended TAMS.
