Royce George receives the OCA Award

Royce George, UNT Senior Lecturer in Educational Leadership, was selected for the 2015 Exemplary Online Teacher & Course Award for his class on theories of organizational development and reform.

The award is given every year by the Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign (CLEAR) to acknowledge UNT faculty that design and teach outstanding online courses.

"Using technology and online instruction at the doctoral level is exciting," stated George. "We are experimenting with a variety of formats that lend themselves to a more flexible instructional program. We don’t want to lose our personal connection with our students, as that is a mainstay of our program." However, George continued, "we also acknowledge their time and commitment to the children in Texas public schools."

George will be formally recognized at the "Salute to Faculty Excellence Week" reception dinner on October 2. In addition, he will be recognized on a perpetual plaque which is displayed in the Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign.

George received his PhD in Education Leadership from UNT in 2014.
