Mandy Stewart wins 2012 College of Education Dissertation Award

The College of Education 2012 Dissertation Award winner is Dr. Mary Amanda "Mandy" Stewart for her dissertation titled: Social Networking, Workplace, and Entertainment Literacies: The Out-of–School Literate Lives of Newcomer Latina/o Adolescents. Dr. Carol Wickstrom, Associate Professor of Teacher Education & Administration, served as the major professor and committee members included Dr. Leslie Patterson, Retired Professor of Teacher Education & Administration, Dr. Samuel Manickam, Assistant Professor of Foreign Language, University of North Texas and Dr. Nora White, Professor of Reading, Texas Woman's University.

Earlier this spring, Stewart earned the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from PDK International and was interviewed by Vive la Manana and Learning First Alliance for her research. Congratulations, Dr. Stewart!
