Higher Education doctoral student Nydia Sanchez selected for prestigious fellowship

Nydia Sanchez, doctoral student in the Higher Education Program, was selected as an American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) Graduate Student Fellow for 2013.

Out of over 120 applicants nationwide, Ms. Sanchez was one of 28 Fellows named in this highly competitive and prestigious program. As a Fellow, she will have opportunities to network with graduate students from across the country and to receive direct mentorship from nationally renowned scholars doing work on Latino/a Higher Education. Graduate Student Fellows present their research at the AAHHE conference in March and develop a policy brief under the guidance of senior AAHHE members.

This is the second year in a row that student from the Higher Education program was selected for this program. The 2012 fellow was Mayra Olivares-Urueta.
