Fall 2012 welcome from Dean Jerry Thomas

Welcome to another great academic year!

ThomasThe University of North Texas College of Education has made substantial gains this past year. We received $18 million in grants, our faculty were featured in a wide variety of research publications, and our students continue to receive national recognition and awards for their accomplishments.

We also celebrated the opening of UNT’s Kristin Farmer Autism Center, our new 20,000-square-foot center that will serve the community with cutting-edge autism interventions and treatments, combining innovative research with student training.

Our college has the two most popular undergraduate majors on campus: teacher education (Interdisciplinary Studies) and Kinesiology. Our graduate programs continue to grow stronger each year. Over 1100 students graduated last year and 50 of those received doctoral degrees.

Our success is driven by a dedicated faculty and staff, support from local public schools, alumni and friends. We are proud to be part of a major public research university focused on providing the best educational experience in Texas and fueling the North Texas region.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and faculty.
