Dr. Casey Barrio Minton receives St. Norbert College 2012 Achievement Award

Barrio Minton

Dr. Casey Barrio Minton, Associate Professor of Counseling in the Department of Counseling and Higher Education, will receive the 2012 St. Norbert College Distinguished Achievement in Social Science Award.

The College recognizes only three graduates annually: someone in the first 10 years beyond graduation, someone more than 25 years beyond graduation, and one other graduate who has distinguished oneself professionally. Dr. Barrio Minton is awarded in the third category. She graduated from St. Norbert in 2000, and in the intervening 12 years has attained her master's and doctoral degrees in counseling and moved through the academic ranks to associate professor. She serves currently as UNT Counseling Program Coordinator and as President of the counseling profession's international academic and professional honor society, Chi Sigma Iota.
