Dr. Miriam Ezzani is faculty in the Program of Educational Leadership in the Department of Teacher Education and Administration. With academic and professional roots in urban education, her scholarship interest is culturally responsive leadership within the context of district reform and school leadership. She defines underserved as students who do not receive equitable resources due to racism, ethnicism, sexism, classism, ableism, heterosexism, lingualism, or faithism. Prior to her arrival at UNT, she served as a school administrator in the state of California and prior to that as a literacy coach and teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She holds administrative credentials in the states of Texas and California. She is an alumna of the University of Southern California, where she earned a doctorate in K-12 Educational Leadership.
