Dr. Ancona graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Health Promotion from the University of North Texas in 1976 and 1986 respectively.  He began teaching in the department as an adjunct professor in 1982.  He became a full time Lecturer in the Spring of 2012.  He finished a Ph. D. in Health Studies and Higher Education at Texas Woman's University in May 2000. Dr. Ancona spent a 30 + year career as a teacher and coach in the public schools of Texas in urban, suburban, and rural school districts. His interests are in teaching and advising undergraduate students. Dr. Ancona academically enjoys corporate wellness, drugs and human health, and sexuality education. His research interests are in the relationship between spirituality and health.

Dr. Ancona teaches many of the undergraduate courses in the division of Health Promotion and is also coordinator of the Internship program.
