I am a native Louisianan (yes, I enjoy cooking) and moved to Texas to pursue my bachelor’s degree in 2003. In 2009, I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Dallas Baptist University. At DBU, I worked as a work-study employee for the first three years and then was full-time staff for the next three years. These years of work proved formative to my career and my desire to purse work in higher education. After nearly two years of other endeavors, I became a member of the UNT community in 2011 as I started my master’s degree and began working as the graduate assistant for the Greater Texas Foundation Scholars Program. I received a Master of Education in Higher Education in May 2013, at which time I was also offered—and eagerly accepted— my current position as Academic Advisor.
