Position:

The Department of Teacher Education and Administration invites applications for Associate Professor of Educational Leadership to begin in Fall, 2017. The successful candidate will join a dedicated Educational Leadership faculty with programs leading to M.Ed., Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Leadership and also to principal certification and superintendent certification.

 

Rank and Salary:

Associate Professor. Competitive salary, commensurate with experience/ background.

   

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program of national significance, to mentor graduate students, and to collaborate with faculty and external agencies to achieve the academic goals of the university. In addition, he or she will be expected to engage in teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership and to contribute service to the department, College of Education, and the University of North Texas. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding. Service on dissertation committees, including the chairing of dissertations, is expected.

   

Qualifications:

The candidate should hold an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely related field (e.g., Educational Policy or Educational Administration). The successful candidate must be qualified to assume the rank of Associate Professor with tenure. Preference will be given to candidates who have a research focus on EC-12 public schools, and/or experience with diverse populations.

Mike Moses Endowed Chair in Educational Leadership

Position:

The Department of Teacher Education and Administration invites applications for Full Professor of Educational Leadership with tenure to begin in Fall, 2017. The successful candidate will join a dedicated Educational Leadership faculty with programs leading to M.Ed., Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Leadership and also to principal certification and superintendent certification. This faculty member will hold the Mike Moses Endowed Chair in Educational Leadership.

Besides start-up expenditures and moving expenses, the Mike Moses Endowed Chair provides funds that may be used at the discretion of the endowed chair for administrative support, research assistant/doctoral student support, establishment of research consortiums or collaborations, and presentation of research at conferences and other forums.

In addition, he or she will be expected to engage in teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership and to contribute service to the department, College of Education, and the University of North Texas. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding. Service on dissertation committees, including the chairing of dissertations, is expected.

Preference will be given to candidates who have a research focus on EC-12 public schools and/or experience with diverse populations. Also receiving preference will be candidates with one or more large external grants.
