Priest Center Awards

Bill J. Priest Center Dissertation Stipend
This stipend is designed to enhance the quality of the doctoral dissertation research examining issues of importance to the community college. It is awarded to current doctoral candidates in the UNT Higher Education Program who aspire to become, or continue as, administrators in a two-year, degree-granting postsecondary institution or in higher education policy positions. Applicants should have successful work experience in a community college or a demonstrated academic or research interest in community college issues. The stipend, not to exceed $750, is to cover research expenses and will be processed in compliance with UNT procedures. Applicants who are enrolled full time will be given priority in the review process.

Bill J. Priest Center Academic Travel Stipend
This award is for academic travel related to research or conference presentation that places significant emphasis on the community college or a topic of importance to community colleges. Awards range from $250 to $1000 and will be processed in compliance with UNT travel procedures.

Priest Center Scholars

Community College Leadership Certificate
This graduate certificate provides currently employed community college and other higher education professionals who hold master's degrees with understandings and experiences that add depth and breadth to their knowledge of community colleges and graduate-level professional development opportunities related to community college mission, finance and administration, leadership, economic and community development, teaching and learning, and contemporary issues.
