This 2-day workshop for administrators and teachers is sponsored by the Education Management Research Center. Topics will include:

  • How to Measure Student Growth
  • How to Readily Determine Curriculum Alignment
  • How to Properly Construct Assessments
  • How to Measure Efficiency

These four topics will be presented by experienced faculty who regularly research and work in the field of PK-12 instruction and administration. Their goal will be to provide opportunities for collaboration and exposure to tools that will be applicable in PK-12 settings.

The hands on workshop is designed for PK-12 teachers and principals, and will provide innovative techniques to determine curriculum alignment. Participants will learn how to properly measure student growth in each subject and determine if the individual student is on-track to meet the teacher, campus and district goals as well as being college ready. The workshop will also focus on how to properly construct assessments and how to measure teacher effectiveness and efficiency.

This workshop has been redesigned to assist administrators with obtaining or creating data into a usable format to coincide with STAAR student data and the new accountability systems for campus and district predications. The workshop will also include information on calculating data within the new index criteria by the state.

While example datasets will be provided, the workshop will be most effective if participants bring their own data to analyze. For questions regarding required data elements and formats, please contact Dr. Jimmy Byrd.

Registration is open through June 24!

Full workshop cost ($100.00) will be forfeited if participant or school district cancels within 48 hours of the scheduled start time.

Discounted hotel rooms are available at the Holiday Inn & Suites Denton! Contact Dr. Jimmy Byrd for the discount code.
