How to register for your test:

Registration for the Family and Consumer Science exams has changed to an online registration format.

Students must obtain a FCS Approval Code in order to register for any FCS exam.  To request a FCS Approval Code you will need to send an email to the TExES Advising Office (TAO) at COE-TAO@UNT.EDU with the following information:

• Full Name
• UNT ID# (8-digit)
• Contact Phone Number
• Name and Number of the Exam You Are Requesting   -   Family and Consumer Science Composite (200), Hospitality, Nutrition and Food Science (201), Human Development and Family Studies (202)
• Anticipated Testing Month

Note:  Students must be admitted to Teacher Education, have a certification plan on file with the COE Student Advising Office, and maintain current enrollment (or have graduated/completed all program requirements) in order to be eligible for certification exams.

The TAO will process your request, respond via email with your FCS Approval Code, and include step-by-step instructions on how to register for your FCS exam.  Note:  All FCS Approval Codes are one-time use only.  Students must obtain a new code for each FCS registration.
