How to register for your test?

1. Obtain a copy of the exam registration bulletin from the State Board for Educator Certification's website. Fill out your registration form.
2. Deliver the form in person to the TExES Advising Office in Matthews Hall, Room 103 or mail it to our office. Processing will take at least 5 business days. If you are mailing your form to us, please include a self addressed stamped envelope. Our mailing address is:

3. Our office will attach a bar code label on your registration form and return the form to you. We are unable to accept faxed registration forms.
4. When you receive your bar code, mail or fax the application for test registration to the AAFCS (American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, Attention: Certification Department). The address and fax number are on the application form. Please do not mail your payment at this time.
5. AAFCS will review your application to verify your eligibility for the exam. A non-transferable authorization letter will be issued upon approval.
6. The authorization letter will contain information and instructions including the toll free number to make an appointment to take the exam at one of the LaserGrade Computer-Based Testing Centers.
