Undergraduate Programs

For undergraduates, the Department of Teacher Education and Administration offers a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, which is a program intended to lead to teaching certification in Texas. The College of Education offers prospective teachers a well-designed program that is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). It provides multiple opportunities for field experience in public schools through a collaborative Professional Development School (PDS) model, and an option to become certified for ESL or bilingual education along with a grade-level and/or content-area focus.

Programs for teaching Early Childhood through Grade 6 (EC-6) are offered in the following certification areas: generalist, bilingual generalist, ESL generalist, and special education.
