1. Click on the File menu and choose the Print option.

2. Click on Preferences or Printer Properties.

3. On the Setup tab (this should be default), choose Off on the Duplex dropdown menu. (Ask for assistance if needed)

3. Click on OK, then click Print.

2. How do I print PowerPoint slides from Blackboard? How can I print more than one slide per page?

Presentations on MS PowerPoint are often posted on Blackboard for students to access as needed. The best way to print these presentations is by opening them in PowerPoint. Follow these steps:

1. Save the presentation to the local computer.

2. Open the presentation in PowerPoint.

3. Click on the orange File tab in the top ribbon and choose the Print option on the left.

If you would like to print more than one slide per page, change the "Full Page Slides" tab to the number of slides per page you prefer.

3. How do I save files to my CD-R/RW?

In order to save files to a CD-R/RW at the Matthews Hall GACL, follow these steps:

1. First save the files to the Desktop or somewhere you will easily find them.

2. Insert the blank CD-R/RW into the CD drive, and click "Burn files to disc" on the Autoplay menu that should pop up. If the Autoplay menu does not appear, click the "Libraries" icon (it looks like a file folder) on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. From there, click "DVD RW Drive" in the menu on the left.

3. To save files other than audio files, choose "Like a USB flash drive" and click Next. Make sure to name your CD at this time if you wish.

4. Another Autoplay menu should pop up after it formats the CD. Click "Add Files to Disc".

5. Drag the files you wish to burn to the CD into that window.

6. When you are finished, click "Close Session" and then Eject your disc.

4. How do I save a Word document as an Adobe PDF file?

3. Change the printer from MATTGACL to Adobe PDF.

The Matthews Hall GACL is not equipped with a photocopy machine. We have scanners that allow you to capture and save documents, but they require more work and time than regular photocopy machines.

6. How do I attach a file to an email?

The specifics of attaching a file to an email message vary from one email program to the next. In general, here's how you attach a file to an email message:

1. Note the name of the file you want to attach and where it is located on your computer.

2. Open a new email message.

3. Complete the email message as usual (subject, recipients, and text).

4. Click on the attach icon (often a picture of a paperclip) on your menu bar, or select the appropriate menu option to attach a file.

5. In the file attachment dialog box or window, select the file you want to attach. Click on Attach or Insert, as the case may be.

6. You should be able to view an icon or text of the file you just attached to verify that it is there. You can also click on the icon to open the file and verify that it is the correct file.
