Teacher Certification

  1. Make an appointment with your academic advisor to complete a Teacher Education Admission application. The form is also available on our website. If you started with another Educator Preparation Program with another entity, you will have to complete a state mandated form before you can be admitted. You can download the form our office at 940-565-2736 if you get a blocked message stating that you are blocked from registering for your teacher education courses.

  2. The Student Advising Office will process your application form within a week of receipt.

  3. Once you have been accepted into the Teacher Education Program, you will be eligible to register for teacher education courses. Please contact 940-565-2736 if you are blocked from registering for your teacher education courses.

Grades EC 6 or 4-8

  • Generalist EC-6
  • Generalist EC-6 with Special Education EC-12
  • Bilingual Generalist EC-6
  • ESL Generalist EC-6
  • 4-8 Social Studies with ESL
  • 4-8 Math with ESL
  • 4-8 Science with ESL
  • 4-8 English Language Arts and Reading with ESL

Grades 8-12

The University of North Texas does not offer a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education or All Level Education. You must major in the teaching field that you are planning to get certified in.
