Jessica Powell

Ms. Jessica Powell is the TExES Advisor for the College of Education at the University of North Texas, Denton. She received her M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University in 2009. Moving to Denton County upon the completion of her degree, Jessica spent time employed with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services and Big Brothers Big Sisters before coming to UNT in 2011 as a Testing Specialist with Counseling and Testing Services. In September 2012, Jessica joined the College of Education and currently serves as the testing advisor for Teacher Education candidates. 

Jeanie McMahan

Ms. Jeanie McMahan has worked in the College of Education at the University of North Texas for over 29 years. In April of 2016, she joined the TExES Advising Office as an Administrative Specialist to help support the advisement of students through the process of taking their state teacher certification exams.  In her previous position, she was an Administrative Coordinator for the Special Education Emotional/Behavioral Disorders program.  She was responsible for budgeting, operation, and federal reporting for 24 different U.S. Department of Education grants, as well as the recruitment and advisement of students pursuing a degree in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders. Jeanie plans to continue her passion of helping students achieve their goals in the TExES Advising Office. In her down time, Jeanie enjoys spending time with her family, loves to travel, and is a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and anything to do with Disney World!
