To be eligible for consideration at the time of submission of an application (Spring semester), an applicant must:

  • have a graduate cumulative GPA of ³ 3.00 depending on the specific scholarship.
  • have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of ³ 3.5 if the applicant has not completed ³ 9 graduate credit hours. The applicant must, nonetheless, provide the graduate cumulative GPA as part of the application process;

At the time any portion of the scholarship is to be dispensed, the recipient must:

  • have an approved and current graduate degree plan on file with UNT in the KHPR major program specified by the eligibility criteria of the particular scholarship. If the recipient violates this requirement, the current portion of the stipend will be withdrawn by the Department even if it has already been applied to the recipient's account at the UNT Office of the Bursar;
  • be currently enrolled in ³ 6 graduate credit hours at UNT unless the recipient has < 12 credit hours remaining in the degree program. If the recipient violates this requirement, the current portion of the scholarship will be withdrawn by the Department even if it has already been applied to the recipient's account at the UNT Office of the Bursar. The scholarship may be used during the three semesters following its awarding.  The combined summer terms are considered as one semester;
  • meet any minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the Department in effect at the time;
  • meet any additional criteria specific to a particular scholarship.
