Undergraduate Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for consideration at the time of submission of an application (Spring semester), an applicant must:

  • have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.50 depending on the specific scholarship.
  • have a degree plan filed with the COE Student Advising Office in the KHPR program specified by the eligibility criteria of the particular scholarship;
  • be currently enrolled in 12 undergraduate credit hours at UNT;
  • meet any minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the Department in effect at the time;
  • meet any additional criteria specific to a particular scholarship;
  • submit a complete application by the advertised deadline.

At the time any portion of the scholarship is to be dispensed, the recipient must:

  • be a declared and current UNT undergraduate major in the KHPR major program specified by the eligibility criteria of the particular scholarship. If the recipient violates this requirement, the current portion of the scholarship will be withdrawn by the Department even if it has already been applied to the recipient's account at the UNT Office of the Bursar;
  • be currently enrolled in 12 undergraduate credit hours at UNT unless the recipient has < 24 credit hours remaining in the degree program. If the recipient violates this requirement, the current portion of the scholarship will be withdrawn by the Department even if it has already been applied to the recipient's account at the UNT Office of the Bursar. The scholarship may be used during the three semesters following its awarding.  The combined summer terms are considered as one semester.

The following pertains only to those scholarships for which both undergraduate and graduate students qualify:

Any KHPR undergraduate student whose status will change to that of KHPR Graduate student within the year may receive the scholarship as a Graduate student, if he/she meets the requirements as outlined under paragraph 2 of the General Scholarship Requirements for Graduate Students.

Note: Some scholarships require a different GPA and other specific requirements, so please check under the Specific Scholarship Requirements page.
