Post-Baccalaureate (PB) Teacher Certification Programs

EC-6 Generalist (with MEd in Early Childhood option)

Individuals who currently hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution may apply for an initial teacher certification plan through the College of Education Student Advising Office (Room 105, Matthews Hall).

4-8 Generalist (with MEd in Curriculum & Instruction option)

Individuals who currently hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution may apply for an initial teacher certification plan through the College of Education Student Advising Office (Room 105, Matthews Hall). The course of study, field experiences and student teaching internship or probationary teacher practicum requirements are comparable with the undergraduate Grades 4-8 Generalist Interdisciplinary Studies initial certification program.

Field Experience for Elementary Post-Baccalaureate

When you enroll in EDBE 5590, EDBE 5580, EDBE 5582, and EDEE 5840 you must also apply through the Clinical Practice Office for school placement in order to meet the 60 hours of field experience required for the program. You will need to attend the Professional Development School 1 Informational Meeting held the semester prior to enrolling in order to apply for your internship.

For those who student teach, these courses should be taken the semester prior to student teaching.
