Three retired faculty awarded emeritus status by board of regents

At the January 2014 UNT Board of Regents meeting, three College of Education faculty were awarded emeritus status:

  • Dr. Chwee Lye Chng from the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation was designated as Regents Professor Emeritus.
  • Dr. Robert W. Patton from the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation was designated as Professor Emeritus.
  • Dr. Ron W. Wilhelm from the Department of Teacher Education and Administration was designated as Professor Emeritus.

In order to be recognized with emeritus status, a faculty member must retire from a tenured or continuing multiple year appointment; have held such continuing appointment for at least ten years; and have a record of distinguished service.
