Scholarship Reception

On September 21st, the College of Education honored its scholarship donors and recipients at the annual Scholarship Reception in the Gateway Ballroom.

Dr. James D. Laney, Professor and Assistant Chair for the Initial Certification Program, Teacher Education and Administration, was the event's emcee.  Gayle Strange, Former Chair of the UNT System Board of Regents, spoke to guests from a philanthropist's perspective, describing "the power of giving and supporting the College of Education and its mission."

Dr. Jerry R. Thomas, Dean and Professor of the College of Education recognized our donors and their recipients, and also gave a summary of special things that are currently happening at the College of Education and UNT.

Janette Boazman, Doctoral Candidate completing her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, spoke as a scholarship recipient.  In a heartfelt message to donors, she stated, "Your generosity has many dimensions and impacts many lives beyond the classrooms here at UNT and your gifts manifest themselves in many ways across our state, nation, and even into other countries."

We appreciate all of these individuals and all they do to contribute to the success of our academic community!
