At the November President's Staff Sack Lunch, Provost Warren Burggren recognized the Counseling Program staff with an Outstanding Department Award. In conferring the award, Provost Burggren commended the staff members for their contribution to the Program's U.S. News & World Report ranking of 13th in the U.S. and 1st in Texas.

Burggren lauded the staff for their skillful handling of the program's offices, Center for Play Therapy, and Counseling & Human Development Center move from Stovall Hall—to make room for swing space related to the Union renovation—to Welch Street Complex 2.  He noted their exceptional teamwork in managing an especially challenging move.
