Alumna named Bilingual Teacher of the Year by TABE

Amy Molina, a dual language/English as a Second Language coach, was recently named Bilingual Teacher of the Year by the Texas Association for Bilingual Educators.

Molina will be recognized by her peers at the Texas Association for Bilingual Educators state conference in Houston next month. She was selected as the state's top bilingual educator for her dedication to helping English language learners and for her outstanding leadership of other educators in meeting their needs.

A former teacher at Lee Elementary School, Molina was also recognized as the Bilingual-ESL Education Association of the Metroplex's Bilingual Teacher of the Year during the 2012-13 school year.

Molina is member of Denton Independent School District's Future Bilingual Teachers Initiative, has been a presenter at the state's annual conference on Parent Education and Parenting, served as a bilingual summer school reading teacher for the district and was a finalist for the Communities in Schools Educator of the Year award in 2010.

A graduate of the University of North Texas, Molina is in her seventh year with Denton ISD.
