Meadows Chair for Excellence in Education

The Meadows Chair for Excellence in Education, established at UNT in 1996 by an endowment from the Meadows Foundation, enhances and advances the professional development of UNT faculty and also the preparation of future educators. Professor Nancy Nelson, who belongs to the faculty of Teacher Education and Administration, holds the Meadows Chair position.

The Meadows Chair sponsors conferences and guest lectures, provides support for graduate students, and pursues research and educational initiatives. Focal areas include linguistic and cultural diversity in education, intercultural education, and global perspectives on education.
