Specific Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for consideration at the time of submission of an application (Spring semester), the student must:

Kenneth Bahnsen

meet minimum entrance and academic performance standards of the College of Education;

be an undergraduate or graduate major in any of the KHPR programs or their successors (preference given to student athletes).

enrolled as a full-time student in Kinesiology at the University;

maintain full-time enrollment at the University, unless he/she has fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full-time remaining in his/her degree program

Eurice Miller Bass

major in any of the KHPR programs or their successors;

sign a statement indicating that in the last 12 months, he/she has not used unlawful drugs and has not abused alcoholic beverages.
be an undergraduate major in any of the KHPR programs or their successors;

sign a statement indicating that in the last 12 months, he/she has not used unlawful drugs and has not abused alcoholic beverage.

The stipend will be distributed in two equal amounts, with one half being available each of two semesters.

meet minimum entrance and academic performance standards of the College of Education.

maintain a 3.0 GPA;

maintain full-time enrollment;

be enrolled as a full-time student in KHPR.

Morrow Family

Kinesiology program or its successor;have a minimum cumulative grade point average of > 3.00 in Kinesiology at the beginning of the Spring semester.be an undergraduate or graduate major in the Kinesiology program or its successor.

The Peggy Richardson Scholarship

meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Education Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation in effect at the time of any award.enrolled as a full-time student in Kinesiology at the University;

maintain full-time enrollment at the University, unless he/she has fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full-time remaining in his/her degree program.

The AMBUCS Scholarship

meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Education Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation in effect at the time of any award;

be an undergraduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor, with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation;

maintain full time enrollment at the University, a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit, unless the student has fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full time remaining in his/her degree program;

complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form at: www.fafsa.ed.gov, since this Scholarship is based on financial need, and submit the results with his/her application packet (NOTE: expect this application process to take about two weeks or more.);

preference will go to an upper class student from the City of Grapevine, TX; in the event no applicant possesses this characteristic, then therapeutic recreation students enrolling full time in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program at the University will be eligible for consideration.

be an undergraduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor, with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation;

maintain full time enrollment at the University, a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit, unless the student has fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full time remaining in his/her degree program.

be an undergraduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor;

have sophomore, junior, or senior, status according to UNT records;

be a current member of the Recreation and Leisure Studies Society or its successor.

be a current member of the Recreation and Leisure Studies Society or its successor;

demonstrate evidence of active service in school or community organizations (this information should be included in the essay part of the application requirements).

The Delmark Scholarship for Recreation

meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Education Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation in effect at the time of any award;maintain full-time enrollment at the University, unless he/she has fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full-time remaining in his/her degree program;

enrolled as a full-time graduate student majoring in Program Management in Recreation at the University;

maintain a 3.00 GPA.

Marian C. Keller

be an undergraduate or graduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor, with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation;have a cumulative GPA of > 2.5 with a RECR major GPA of > 2.75 for undergraduate applicants;

have a cumulative GPA and RECR major GPA of > 3.0, or if a new student, > 2.75 for graduate applicants;

have at least two semesters remaining in the program.
be an undergraduate or graduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor, with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation;

take a minimum of 12 semester hours credit if an undergraduate applicant;

take a minimum of 6 semester hours credit if a graduate applicant.

Rita Pilkey

be an undergraduate or graduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor;have completed 74 semester hours toward the degree and have enrolled for two consecutive semesters in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program if he/she is an undergraduateapplicant. be an undergraduate or graduate major in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program or its successor.
