Recreation Management Graduate Certificate:

A professional development certificate for those who already have a Bachelor’s degree in any field and some experience in Recreation and Leisure Services, and who want to focus on Recreation Management at the graduate level.

You’ll earn your 2.0 CEUs for 2 years by taking just 1 course!

 

Admissions Requirements:

  • Transcripts showing completion of Bachelor’s degree with GPA of 3.0 for last 60 hours, or 2.8, overall (if at least 2.4 on last 60 hours, applicant may petition to RLS Program)
  • Completed application for admission to the Graduate School, specifying enrollment in the Graduate Academic Certificate in Recreation Management program

Curriculum: 

9 semester hours of graduate work in Recreation
Management (Only 3 courses!)

Required courses (2 courses; 3 semester hours each):

RECR 5050 – Administration and Supervision in Recreation & Sport

RECR 5060 – Areas and Facilities for Recreation & Sport

Chose one of the following courses (each 3 semester hours):

RECR 5200 – Dynamics of Commercial Recreation and Tourism

RECR 5800 – Studies in Recreation RECR 5850 – Proseminar in Leisure Services Management RECR 5860 – Practicum in Leisure Services

RECR 5900 – Special Problems – chose from:

  • Management in Therapeutic Recreation
  • Management in Recreation, Sport, & Leisure
  • Fiscal Administration in Rec., Sport, & Leisure
  • Legal Dimensions of Rec., Parks, & Leisure
