Gifted children who have a learning disability
have unique challenges. Often, the learning disability masks the giftedness,
which might result in schools focusing on the disability only.

below address the masking of the gifts, and often the gifts masking the learning
disability. They also alert the parent to possible misdiagnosis. Finally,
overexcitability is addressed because of the behavioral parallels it has to
ADHD, suggesting further possible misdiagnoses.
