The Behavioral Specialist Certificate is designed for individuals who have completed the master’s degree program in the area of emotional/behavioral disorders and who desire to provide services to students with behavioral challenges (e.g., classroom teachers, behavioral consultant, crisis intervention teacher).
Admission Requirements for Certificate:
- Successfully complete a master’s degree program in emotional/behavioral disorders.
- Meet the requirements for admission to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies.
- Complete and file an application with the Special Education Office indicating the intention to work toward this certificate.
- Successfully complete at least one full year as a teacher of students with emotional/ behavioral disorders.

- EDSP 5320 Introduction to Functional Assessment
- EDSP 5615 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
- EDSP 5660 Transition of Youth with E/BD: Issues and Practices
- EDSP 5684 Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury - I
