Students who desire to pursue the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the Area of Special Education should refer to the UNT Graduate Catalog for current requirements. The PhD is offered in conjunction with the Federation of North Texas Area Universities. Individual student interests and specializations are developed through the use of internships, directed studies, and minor area course work. Students entering the PhD program are expected to have successful teaching or related experiences prior to the completion of the program. The minimum program presupposes appropriate baccalaureate and master's background. Individual doctoral programs will vary and may include more than the minimum hours.
