Call for Proposals Submission

 

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO September 18, 2009!!!

 

You are invited to propose a presentation for the February 18th-19th, 2010 International Conference on Parent Education and Parenting. The goals of the conference include bridging practice and research in parent education and fostering dialogue between practitioners and researchers.  Call for proposal information is attached at the bottom of this page.

 

The proposal deadline is September 15, 2009. To submit your proposal, please go to our website at:  https://www.coe.unt.edu/cpe-proposal.

 

Complete all information.  Please note:  The last two entries require you to enter a 500-800 word summary of your presentation and bio sketch.  Please have this information ready in a word document or Abobe PDF file, then cut and paste your information into the fields provided on the on-line form as you will not be able to edit your information in the fields.  

 

You are also invited to nominate programs for Best Practices in Parent Education, Parent Involvement, and Family Support.  Please see attached instructions for Best practices nominations.

Proposal Acceptance

  • All submissions will be acknowledged via e-mail by November 2009.

  • An official acceptance letter for employers or visa applications will be sent upon request.

Registration for Presenters

  • All presenters are required to register by January 15, 2009 to be included in the program.

Audio Visual Requests

  • Overhead projector screens and flip charts will be provided in every room.

  • Efforts will be made to fulfill other audio visual requests.

  • Handouts are the responsibility of presenters. An on site copy center is available.

Visa Application and Information (International Presenters)

  • If your proposal is accepted, we will provide you with a letter regarding your proposal acceptance, purpose of your visit, and how long you will be in the U.S. for the attendance of our conference.
  • Once you receive this letter, you will take this letter to your local embassy and begin the B-1 Visa application process.  The B-1 visa is a Vistor for Business visa.  The representatives at your local embassy will assist you with this process.
  • The approximate cost for a visa is $131.00.  Please check with your local embassy representative for accurate pricing.
  • Visa waivers are availabe for certain countries.  You will need to check with your embassy representative regarding a visa waiver.
