Dr. Cynthia Chandler is a 2009 recipient of the Thelma Duffey Vision and Innovation Award from the Association for Creativity in Counseling, a division of the American Counseling Association. She is a 2006 recipient of the Beyond Limits Award for Pet Partners Instructor and Evaluator along with her dogs Rusty and Dolly. And, she is a recipient of the 2006 Texas Counseling Association’s Writer of the Year Award for the first edition of her book, Animal Assisted Therapy in Counseling, published in 2005.
