Welcome to the TExES Advising Office website. We provide advising and general information related to the state teacher certification exams. Our office approves students for the ExCET, TExES, TOPT, and the TExMAT exams. We also administer the College of Education's Departmental Competency Exams.

Updated Cell Phone policy for the state certification exams
Cell phones , smartphones (e.g Blackberry devices, iphones), PDAs and other electronic or photographic devices are not allowed in the test center. If you bring these items into the test center, you will be dismissed, your test fees will be forfeited and your scores cancelled. Test administrators are no longer permitted to collect and hold cell phones. If you have to leave to store your cell phone in your vehicle, you must be back before the doors the doors to the test centers are closed. Once the doors are closed, you will not be admitted, even if you have already been in the test center and left to store your phone. If you are dropped off, you must not have your phone in possession. If you do, you will not be admitted to test.

CAT Testing for the TExES Generalist EC-6 and PPR EC-6 begins January 11, 2010
Registration must be completed at least four days before the test date.

Admission tickets
Effective with the 2008–09 testing year, candidates will be required to print their admission tickets from their testing accounts on the ETS TExES website at www.texes.ets.org. Paper admission tickets will no longer be mailed to any candidates. Also effective with the 2008–09 testing year, candidates will no longer be mailed a paper score report. Score reports will be posted on the ETS TExES website on the score reporting date and will be viewable for 90 days after posting. Candidates should be encouraged to print a copy for their records. Reprints of the score report will no longer be available.
